Sportsy trivia answer

LEARN MORE
If you guessed Donald Trump, you were close: Donald Trump attempted to buy an NFL team several times, and while he didn't ultimately pull that off, he did own a pro football team in the short-lived USFL. Warren Harding, meanwhile, owned a minor league baseball team, the Marion Diggers of Class D Ohio State League. The only president on this list with a stake in a team from one of the four major professional leagues, though, was George W. Bush, who was part of the ownership group of Major League Baseball's Texas Rangers from 1989 to 1998. Bush gave up a leadership role with the ownership group in 1994 when he was elected governor of Texas, but he remained invested until the Rangers were sold in 1998 for $250 million. The Rangers are worth nearly seven times that much today, but don't feel too bad for the 43rd POTUS: His roughly $600,000 investment earned him nearly $15 million in return, and shedding his business interests helped to position him for his successful presidential run in 2000.
