Bits & Pieces Friday 3-13-2020

Tuesday evening is the last “Elegant Dinner” put on by Karen Green and her crew. There are still spaces available for dinner. If you haven't been to one it is quite an experience. This will be my second one as I enjoyed the first one I went to.

Sunday will be the last Ice Cream Social for this season. 3:00 to 3:30 pm.

Thursday, March 19th is the park appreciation Party. 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Everything is provided. Music is provided by Curt James. Stop by the Activities Office to get a free ticket. This will let the cooks know how much food to prepare.

As of now, there is a bus trip planned for the “ Winter Texan Appreciation day” in Pregreso, Mexico. The bus will leave here at 10:00 am and meet you to be picked up at 2:00 pm.

Mike Owens reported that 100 flags were burned on Sunday last week. About 60 people attended the ceremony.

Marsha Schmidt suggested that you take your Red Envelope home with you with it in your glove box in case you would need it. Bring it back with you when you return for next season. It has useful information where ever you go. She let us know that the 1st Responders have had 38 calls so far this year.

There will be trivia next Tuesday night at 6:30 PM in the Main Hall in the usual place I have a couple of volunteers to fill in for Butch. More on that later. You can find the answer to one of the questions at this site:

A clue to the answer is in the first 4 paragraphs on this Wikipedia website:

Little did we know when we chose Trophy Gardens for our winter home the depth of the saying " Being in the right place at the right time." We are very grateful for all the care we have received from so many people and given so freely. We feel very blessed. After I wrote about the events of the night Butch fell and broke his leg you would be amazed to know the number of our longtime friends and family who are surprised how well we were taken care of by so many. Being in the Trophy Garden family feels like a warm blanket on a cold night. Thanks to all of you! Mucho Gracias!!   Love, Barb and Butch Brooker
