 Saturday 4-24-2021

Trophy lost another past resident and I lost another friend today. Mary Lou Beecher passed away in Minnesota today. Mary Lou would come to Trophy with Gail & Shirley Tilton for many years.

Thursday Karen Green and Jerrol Bahner were in a car accident on 10th street coming out of Dirty Al's. They are both at home now, but the pickup was totaled. They are still in the park. They are on lot 562.

It is with particular sadness that Fred Keifer passed away Yesterday, April 16th. Fred was a Woodshop Monitor and a Member-at-Large of the Woodshop Board. We will miss him greatly. I have carved with Fred for many years and we have had many talks about our families and things we loved to carve.

Ted Wischropp's Apartment number is 306, not 104. He moved from the apartment number that I had in my book.

Sorry to report we have lost another past Trophy resident. Jean Bott passed away yesterday Sunday 4-11-2021. (Max who has since passed) had come to Trophy for a number of years. Max and Jean Bott were long-time residents of Florissant, Missouri.

Kathryn Wischropp passed away Wednesday morning. To send a card to Ted, his address is 505 N Maize Rd., apt 104, Wichita, Ks 67212.

Many have left the resort for the summer. It is quiet here now. I'm hoping we'll have rain tomorrow. It has been very humid here the last few days. The trees trying to come back from the freeze need the rain.

Bits & Pieces

For those that are not in Trophy and those who have left, the flowers and trees are beginning to show new life. My Grapefruit tree has new growth and the dead and frozen parts have been trimmed off. The new leaves are bright and shiny. I have had some blossoms and now there are baby grapefruit starting. Many of the palm trees survived the cold too. Some of the cactus had to be removed, but some survived the freeze.

Bits & Pieces-April 1 2021

Many of you may already know that the CFO, which has been a part of the park for as long as the park has been opened, has been shut down. The Drop and Shop is no longer there for you to donate items and will not be used for you to shop. The building is now the property of Wilder Corp. The program is in reorganization at this time.

Sunday, January 16th, 2022 is Remembrance Sunday.  We need everyone’s help in letting us know who has passed since the last Remembrance Sunday, January 17th, 2021 so that we may honor their passing.

We wish everyone a wonderful summer and we look forward to seeing all of you back next season.

TROPHY GARDEN REUNION UPDATE: The cruises are full and there is a waiting list in the order checks were sent in.  I have heard Cenla Campground is full.  The cell # for Cenla is 480-271-3588  Vicky's personal cell phone number.  Otherwise, there is plenty of room in State Campgrounds but they may not be open yet, to make reservations.  Tours must be broken up in groups in order to go through the businesses.  There will be more info as we get close to August.  Just remember to come to the EXPO Monday noon -3:00pm 1600 15th St  Spirit Lake, IA.  One block off of Hwy 9, just west of HY-Vee.  Here you will register and receive information.  Then off to Barefoot Bar to wait for your cruise and visit with everyone.  If for some reason you think you may not be able to come please let me know as soon as possible so your money can be refunded.  Due to making food reservations, I may not be able to refund if I don't know two weeks in advance of the reunion.

People have asked the question of what additional expense will there be: the reunion funds are paying for cruises and tax, the two meals, and Buffalo burger plus tax. You will be expected to leave a tip for the meals.
