The group is for anyone with any kind of loss. All material provided.
If you are a bit late due to the style show this week, that’s all right.
If you cannot attend but would like materials, just let me or someone who is coming know
, and I will get them to you. My cell is 785-427-6540. Thanks so much. Dawn Phelps
Trophy Gardens International Fellowship
"Blessings To You"
2022 Spring Missions Report
Blessings To You is the name of the Trophy Gardens RV Resort church mission effort. It is open to everyone in our park who would like to be involved. If you would like to participate, contact Pastor Randy Parks at Lot #616 on Classic.
This program began in January of 2022 as a means of continuing previous efforts to share a Christian ministry to people in Alamo, the Rio Grande Valley, and across the river into Mexico.
The $2,700.00 to be distributed in this report does not include the $1,670.00 raised during the February 2022 Potato Bake. That money will be distributed during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons of 2022.
As part of the mission ministry of Trophy Garden International Fellowship, the church board has voted to support five specific ministries for the 2022 spring season.
1-CHILDRENS HAVEN INTERNATIONAL
Children's Haven International provides home and refuge to over 50 needy children from broken, abusive, or impoverished families in Reynosa. The children usually range in age from 1 to 18.
During the Sunday morning service, February 20, 2022, Betsy Chacon from Children's Haven will be making a video presentation regarding their ministry. The church will be presenting a check for $1,000.00 to the ministry.
2-WOMEN TOGETHER / Mujeres Unidas
Women Together is a non-profit organization established in 1978 to provide a safe haven to victims of family violence and their children. The local office is in McAllen, Texas.
During the Sunday morning service, March 13, 2022, Nelda Hernandez will be at church to discuss the ministry provided by their organization. The church will be presenting a check for $500.00 to the ministry.
3-GIDEONS INTERNATIONAL
Gideons International was founded in 1899 in Janesville, Wisconsin. Gideon members currently distribute over 70 million Bibles annually, and on average, more than two copies of the Bible per second.
Sunday, February 27, 2022, LeRoy Spilde will share the mission of Gideons during our church service. The church will be presenting a check for $200.00 to the ministry.
4-ALAMO COMMUNITY CHURCHÂ SENIORS FOOD DISTRIBUTION
900 E. Bowie Ave, Alamo Texas
This food distribution service is organized by the Alamo Community Church and supports people in the Alamo area. The church board voted to support this ministry with a check for $500.00.
5-MINISTERIO PUERTA DEL CIELO (THE DOOR OF HEAVEN)
1412 S. Tower Road, Alamo Texas
This ministry is a local, Spanish-speaking church that provides the saving message of Jesus on both sides of the Rio Grande.
During the Sunday morning service, March 6, 2022, Jania Cardenas Nava will share a video presentation regarding the ministry of this Hispanic fellowship. The church will be presenting a check of $500.00 to this ministry
Hoss Collar results for Monday, February 7th, were as follows: It was a very brisk evening but 25 hardy and physically fit participants were up to the challenge. Jim Voth came in 1st Place with 690 points; Gary DeRosier came in 2nd Place with 630 points and Karl Pettersen came in 3rd Place with 612 points.
Hoss Collar results for Wednesday, February 9th were as follows: It was an absolutely beautiful night with just a small, but a little bit chilly breeze hanging around court #6. There were 41 of us playing and we had lots of excitement when a cottontail rabbit decided to race across Titleist and with a flying leap he jumped onto court #6 and then raced across courts 7, 8, 9, and 10 all while we were yelling and the discs were flying. He wasn’t hit and he ran around between the shuffleboard shack and the Sunrise Room and out of sight. His little heart was probably pumping pretty fast. Maybe he was late for dinner, who knows. Dale Husted won 1st Place with 585 points; Marlys Timm won 2nd Place with 569 points and Larry Clintsman won 3rd Place with 561 points. Come and play on Monday and Wednesday evenings; we start at 6:30PM. Bring a one-dollar bill (no change please) and be ready to have some fun. Hoss Collar is very easy to learn, it takes about 5 seconds and you are playing like a pro. We also play regular Shuffleboard on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings at 9:00AM. This is easy to play as well. Bring $.30 and be ready to have a lot of fun, with mild exercise and Vitamin D thrown in. All games are random draws so you never know who you’ll be playing with or against.
Lots of thanks go to those guys who came and cleaned the courts Thursday afternoon, they sure needed it. Karl Petersen, Larry Clintsman, Gary DeRosier, Brent McKee, Jim Voth, Dan Lang, and Les McKinney. I hope I didn’t leave anyone out. The courts were really nice to play on Friday morning.
Take Care!!
