***Where did five months go???  It is wonderful to be busy --- but then time goes way too fast...   Today our Mixed Doubles Pool players met... I didn't really hear too many remarks today - probably because I wasn't listening...  We started off the event by taking a group picture which of course we didn't have all the players cause some of them had to go home for reasons.   But we got a group photo anyway.. I do have a comment from home regarding our group picture "I see all the poorer players are sitting in the front row..." of course I am in the front row..... Today Claudette Hogeson brought in cookies for the bunch and she brought a special decorated Easter Bunny cookie for me -- with lots of frosting--thanks Claudette &  Candy too, the cookie decorating teacher..... Oh yes, I did hear the cookie monster groan cause he was not playing up to par... that is the way it goes with pool.  But then we are all reminded of the light switch is either on or off and so that is probably what happened --OFF !!

We appreciated the sunscreens put on the south windows of our pool hall...  Many comments were made on Sunday that it seemed way cooler... The sunscreens let light in and help keep heat out.....Thanks to the board for doing this..'

This Sunday we had two players Don & Millie Olson join us. Thanks for coming... The first time they played with us all season...

There were 12 teams that played and each team played 11 games...

Teams winning 9 games are------ Barb Brooker & Jerry Thibodeau     ---   Claudette Hogeson & Alex Stinson

Team  winning  7 games are ---   Barb Utech & Greg Dowhaniuk

Teams winning 6 games are ----  Millie Olson & Kinley Poulsen  ---   Arja Tito & Paul Kelleher --Sally Kelleher & Keny Patrick

What can I say about this Sunday --  but the Mixed Double Pool players need to forgive me for the mix-up on the number of players we had...  I won't explain how the mix-up happened and we ended up with an even number of players -- 10 guys and 10 gals...but it all worked out...    Ok - so now I can tell on the players and some of their comments that I heard during playing time...so here are the comments---  there are three of us teams tied for the lowest place-- but we have had some good shots,  seems like a light switch either on or off,    we can get 100% today by winning  no games,    we shouldn't have won that game,   you don't scare us now because we just won one game,   can't be beaten by the lowest team...   even heard  "shut up!"  But this was all if fun....
There were ten teams and each team played nine games.
Winning 6 games---  Barb Utech & Don Wulf

Winning 5 games --  Arja Tito & Keny Patrick,    Gayle Steinbeck & Greg Dowhaniuk,    Sally Kelleher & Lonnie Hull, Mikie Patrick & Paul Kelleher,   Renie Stinson & Butch Brooker
I won't mention how many games the rest of us won but I have to brag a little as my partner and myself beat the number one team.... So that is the only bragging rights we have today...
It was a fun afternoon - a great way to spend time with good friends...  One of the players even had a dental appointment in Mexico after the games...  "  Also the Iowa Hawkeyes won today... YAH!!
Sign up sheet is up for next week ---  we are getting short of players as they are going back north...

Pool hall reboot

I am going to try this again regarding our mixed Doubles pool tournament.  For reasons unknown the first report did not send correctly ---  so bear with me --  here I go again ...  Each team played 10 games --  here is how it went...

Team winning   8 games were Bev McEnaney & Greg Dowhaniuk

Team winning   7 games were Barb Utech  & Butch Brooker

Teams winning 6 games were Janet Yeley & Terry Steinbeck,    Barb Jacobson & Lonnie Hull

Teams winning 5 games were Barb Brooker & Don Wulf,     Sally Kelleher & Jake Jacobson,   Lola Wulf & Don Riley, Gayle Steinbeck & Kinley Paulsen

I forgot to mention that the Pool Hall Babes have a famous jockey.    Mikie Patrick entered the horse races on Friday the 4th, of March.    She named her horse PASSING WIND....    Her horse was constructed using a pool crutch and decorated with ribbons, and MIkie was all decorated out with her cowboy attire...  Mikie and Passing Wind were a great success and we were there to cheer her on to victory - even tho two more steps would have made Mikie & Passing Wind a big winner....  Another fun time....  Thanks, Mikie for joining in the races......

Pool Hall Mixed Doubles Results-Sunday

The time is going fast and soon we will all be headed north for the summer...  Another fun day enjoying our Mixed Doubles pool playing.    As usual, there were many comments made during the playing of the games..."We got lucky,  do we get a prize for the most games lost,    when you break the balls and if you scratch the cue ball,  your opponent has to shoot from the kitchen but the opponent wanted to know if he could shoot from the bedroom,   and today for the first time this year my partner and I won the most games played in this tournament and I was accused of cheating, lucky and the score sheet was fixed...

We also had a PHB celebrating her birthday --  we all signed the back of this week's signup sheet wishing Barb Brooker a happy birthday making this her birthday card.  ....  We also sang her Happy birthday... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BARB !!!
