Peggy Carnes had hip replacement sugary and it went well, but two weeks later, I heard a loud pop and unbelievable pain. Thought the new prosthesis went out of place. An ambulance trip to hospital and many x rays and CT scan showed a fractured outer hip bone that had probably been cracked during surgery.
It seems to be a clean break, so just wait and see without further surgery. I'm going to skilled nursing someplace today. After 6 days in hospital, I need more one on one. I've only had therapy 2 days. Probably 2 weeks or more. They say it takes 6-8 weeks to heal. Dang. A friend has my doggy, Snickers! Prayers please! Time to get the prayer wheel spinning for Peggy!! Peggy has been moved to a skilled Facility. Still needs prayers for a speedy recovery.
Prayers work...Diana Teppo received good news on her cancer tests. No cancer in the muscle only the bladder. She could still use prayers!!
I will have my surgery tomorrow that has been put off since October. Finally!!

Trophy got hit by a lot of rain today. One report was 31/2”. Flooding in the streets. Don't call the office they will call you if you need to know about any damage to your place.
Last week they had high winds that did some damage. Tree limbs down and some skirts blew off. Again the office will be doing the calling if you need to know of any damage.
Some have been asking about Charles Fellenstein so I called Coke and we had a wonderful conversation. Charles is now doing very well. He is a little bruised from the removal of his teeth but is recovering very nicely now. Coke is getting help for her to walk again with her walker.
Dianna Teppo can use your prayers as she had to place Ernie in a care facility while she is dealing with bladder cancer. Let's get the prayer wheel spinning for Dianna!!

Rio Valley Estates storm damage: My friend Donna G. Lives in Rio Valley Estates in Weslaco TX. It seems they had a storm last night. Many of my friends keep track of her blog so they can get the latest info through the summer on what is happening in the Rio Grande Valley. Here is her blog: http://donnasramblingsatrve.blogspot.com/
And here is her specific article about the storm
Butch and I are knee-deep in putting a pool table back together. My sister gave us the pool table and last summer we built a POOL HALL/garage to accommodate it. So a couple of weeks ago we rounded up some fantastic help (young people) and took apart her pool table and brought it home. So last weekend with fantastic help, some of the same young people, we reassembled it. Today, Butch and I will be putting new cloth on the bed of the pool table. It will be the first time for us and we are a bit nervous about it. So wish us luck!
If you would care to tell me what you are up to this summer I will put it here, on the Trophy Garden Blog, to share with our Trophy Garden friends. Betsie does a great job and this will add another avenue.
Send your summer fun entries to keep.movin.on@gmail.com. Please, add your name in the subject line so I don't automatically send it to my spam folder.

Can you believe that it is May already!! I hope you have had some of those April Showers so you will have May flowers. It has been hot and dry in Texas. The rain that is falling in Dallas is not making it to The Valley.......We finally got 21/2" later.
Peggy Carnes has had a total hip replacement Friday and would appreciate prayers. Thank you and stay safe everyone!
Hi! Update on my travels From Alice Johnson. Got everything I needed to get done in Iowa, got to play bridge with some of my friends who had their Covid vaccinations too. Made an appointment at Walgreen online for our PCR Covid tests to get on our route to Canada. We received our negative results second night out, motel printed our certificates for us the next morning, all papers in order, crossed the border late that afternoon. It went surprisingly well, Red Cross tested us again on this side of Canada, they said theirs were somewhat like Walgreen, gave us tests kits to retest in 6 days again. Now we are staying put for the 14-day quarantine. Pennsylvania had a few areas of snow flurries and sleet but didn't last and didn't get slick. When are you going back to Iowa? Look forward to bits and Pieces like always. Bye for now, Alice
Lynn, the park manager, held a park meeting in the hall today. She said that there are 110 people in the park on 66 sites with 28 pets. Several are heading home this week yet. ***JD and Lynn will be gone on a well-deserved vacation the month of June. Belinda and Jean and Charles will be here to keep everything grounded. *** The summer activities for those in the park this summer will get started. Happy Hour will start on May 16th in the hall. Supper Club is starting next week.
JD said the quilters are working really hard to get the quilting building reality. They have raised $ 17,000.00 already. New roofs for the Pool Hall and the shuffleboard building have been approved as well as Air Conditioners, mattresses, and chairs for the Suites (Apts). Others on the wish list are still on the table and will be decided later.
Bits & Pieces will be heading home tomorrow. I hope to get back to Texas in October. I'm just so glad that I was able to get here and be in Trophy Gardens for the short time I was here. Your next Bits & Pieces will be coming from Iowa. Looking forward to the reunion already!!!
